Guardians of the Galaxy had an amazing box office party and to guess that the movie would be converted into a series just like Avengers or Batman was a no-brainer and now that it has been announced officially that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 would definitely be going live on screen on 5th of May 2017, people have started speculating about the cast of the movie.
James Gunn said that the casting for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has already begun and that we can expect to see new additions to the team of Guardians of the Galaxy and we may also get to see some new villains from the Marvel Universe being introduced in the series.
Now, we knew that the additions to the story will have to be made in a way so that the story finally starts pointing to the Infinity War and Kang the Conqueror came up as a quick suggestion.
For those who don’t know who he is – Kang the Conqueror is a unique villain, he is a time-traveling character who first appeared in “Fantastic Four” comics as King Rama Tut. He was revealed as Kang a year later, when he battled the Avengers, and from then on has become one of the regular villains. The problem with the character, is that Kang is a relative of Reed Richards, or Nathaniel Richards, from “Fantastic Four,” so basically he is owned by Fox, which is connected with the “Fantastic Four” franchise.
Shi’ar won’t be a part of the movie either because of the same reason as the rights to using Shi’ar as a villain also belong to the Fox Studios.
All of this will have an impact on the original storyline of Guardians of the Galaxy and some changes will have to be made to the original stories so that new characters can fit in and still be relevant.
The characters and the cast for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 have not been finalized yet and we will have to wait a little for official announcements from James Gunn.
