Guardians of the Galaxy 2 director, James Gunn recently started a new social media mannerism with the hashtag #WhatWeShotWednesday, where the filmmaker shares one out of the many hand-drawn sketches that are made and drawn by him before shooting each scene.
Fans have been buffing over the first two drawings that were made by him, but by the looks of it, the fans seem to be finding a lot of difficulty in determining what is actually being shot in any of these roughly scribbled drawings.
The #WhatWeShotWednesday culture was followed again recently with a new sketch released by the director, which features Star-Lord wearing his headphones. When interrogated by intrigued fans, this is what the “Guardians of the Galaxy” filmmaker replied in reference to this week’s sketch on his Facebook page.
“Another Wednesday, another storyboard for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Looking forward to more absolutely insane guesses (no, that was not a giant banana last week). Also – this is not two images, but one I erased and replaced with another. #WhatWeShotWednesday #GotgVol2”
The picture that the director is talking about seems to resemble Star-Lord, but without a mouth. He is seen wearing a weird set of headphones. Last week’s sketch had three characters gathered around something that very much resembled a huge banana with a caption about Star-Lord’s dad having come from the stars. The first sketch featured Groot holding a fleshy creature.
Guardians of the Galaxy has a huge and varied star cast. Famous actor Chris Pratt will be seen again playing his role as Peter Quill, known as Star-Lord. Other actors who will be seen playing pivotal characters in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise are Zoe Saldana playing the role of Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel dubbing the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula and Sean Gunn as Kraglin.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is an extension of the team’s adventures as they set out on the journey of discovering the mystery of Peter Quill’s true ancestors. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is being produced by Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nikolas Korda and Stan Lee.
The shooting schedule and photography of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 reportedly started in February and is being continued presently. The movie is expected to hit the theatres in April 2017.
